XP Config

by Sniklz

XP Config lets server owners set multipliers for each source of experience, from mining ores to trading with villagers.

NeoForgeServer-side onlyApache License 2.0Open source1.21.1 – 1.21.10

What it does

The mod applies configurable multipliers to experience gained from several sources: ore mining, smelting, blasting and cooking in furnaces, villager trading and wandering trader trades, and grindstones. Experience from bottles can be adjusted as well. Each multiplier is set in the config file, so a server can make one source generous and another modest without changing the game's other rules.

The mod is installed on the server only, and players join without installing anything. It is published for NeoForge across nine release versions, 1.21.1 – 1.21.10, and the latest file, 1.0.0+1.21.10+21.10.40-beta, is a beta build for 1.21.10. The source code and issue tracker are public, and the code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.

Key features

  1. Ore mining multiplier

Experience from mining ores can be scaled by a configured multiplier, separate from other sources.

  2. Smelting, blasting and cooking

Furnace, blast furnace and smoker experience each have their own multiplier in the config.

  3. Villager and wandering trader trades

Experience earned by trading with villagers and wandering traders can be raised or lowered independently.

  4. Experience bottles and grindstones

Experience bottles and grindstones are covered by their own settings, so the value of each one can be tuned.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Server owners who want to tune how fast players level up without editing datapacks or the game code. It suits survival servers that run economies or progression systems built around experience.

Does a player need XP Config installed?

No. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own.
