WorkPenalty
by PhilRoli
WorkPenalty shows an item's anvil repair cost in its tooltip, so the next anvil operation can be checked before it is committed.
What it does
On Fabric, WorkPenalty puts the enchantment work penalty of an item directly in its tooltip. Vanilla anvil use silently raises that penalty each time an item is worked on, and the penalty doubles the experience cost of later repairs and enchantments, yet the value is normally hidden. Fabric API is required. The mod is client-side only and released under the MIT License as open source, for game versions 1.20.5 – 26.3.
Key features
Tooltip repair cost
The current work penalty of an item appears in its tooltip, without opening the anvil screen.
Cost check before committing
Players can see how expensive the next anvil operation will be before they confirm it.
Warning near the limit
Repair costs approaching the Too Expensive threshold are visible early, so the item can be handled before the cap blocks it.
