Wither: Reincarnated
Players who find the Wither too simple to beat will notice that Wither: Reincarnated rebuilds its boss fight with new attacks, phases and behavior.
What it does
The mod reworks the Wither boss. Its first phase focuses on destroying the surrounding world rather than chasing players, and a permanent night begins while it is alive. It gains a charge attack that a Shield can block to stun it, a barrage of Wither Skulls aimed at the ground, and a laser attack that is lethal without cover. Dangerous skulls can be deflected back to deal extra damage, and skulls explode larger and leave fire. In its final phase it attacks more aggressively and circles its target instead of hovering above it.
Most mobs flee from the Wither, and it can possess nearby undead mobs, which then follow it and defend it. The boss also has a more intimidating model and sounds, and a new boss bar. Wither: Reincarnated is installed on Forge or NeoForge and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. It is required by Wither Reincarnated x epic fight.

Dangerous Wither Skulls can be deflected like Ghast fireballs to damage the Wither.

Always a Wither Skull is server-side only as well, with files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 1.16.5 – 26.3, and is also not open source. Better Wither changes the boss on Forge for 1.20.1 only, and Wither: Reincarnated differs by requiring both the client and the server.
