Wither Infection

by deinomodder

Wither Infection changes how withers spread, so a wither that kills a mob leaves another wither behind.

ForgeNeoForgeServer-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.5

What it does

When a wither attacks a mob and the mob dies, the mob turns into another wither, and the infection continues from there. The mod is aimed at the wither fight itself and the chain reaction it starts across a world. It runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.5, under All rights reserved and not open source.

Key features

  1. Infected mobs

Once a mob dies from a wither attack, it rises as a new wither in its place.

  2. Spreading apocalypse

Withers attacking mobs create more withers, which can quickly fill an area that was calm before.

  3. Server-side changes

The wither behavior changes on the server, so clients need nothing extra to take part.

Questions

Does Wither Infection need to be installed on the client?
