Vulkan Border Fix

by LoopholeMC

Vulkan Border Fix restores a visible world border for players who run VulkanMod, after the Vulkan renderer hides it.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License26.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

Under VulkanMod the vanilla world border can disappear entirely. Minecraft gives the border an effectively infinite height, and the Vulkan rendering engine cannot process vertex data that large, so the border is not drawn. This Fabric mod caps the border at a finite height, which lets VulkanMod render it correctly.

Restoring the border brings back the vanilla look while VulkanMod is running. The height limit can also be changed, so the border's vertical extent can be adjusted to suit a given world. VulkanMod is required, and Mod Menu is optional for opening the mod's settings from the game's menu. The mod runs on the client alone, so a server does not need it, and it is released under the MIT License, which is not open source. Files exist for 26.1 – 26.1.2, with 1.0.0 for 26.1.2 as the latest build.

Key features

  1. Visible world border

The border is drawn again while VulkanMod is active, instead of disappearing from the screen.

  2. Finite border height

The vanilla infinite height is capped at a finite value so the Vulkan renderer can handle the border geometry.

  3. Adjustable height

The height of the border can be customized, changing how far up the boundary is drawn.

  4. Vanilla appearance

The border is restored to match how it looks in the vanilla renderer when VulkanMod is running.
