Volucraft
Volucraft turns the crafting grid into a three-dimensional cube, so recipes are built from stacked layers instead of one flat 3×3 area.
What it does
Volucraft adds an Amalgamation Table, a crafting screen that takes up to 27 ingredients arranged in a 3×3×3 cube. Its recipes use the same format as regular crafting, with shapeless recipes supporting up to 27 ingredients instead of nine. Recipes can be rotated, reflected and translated, and they stay valid as long as the pattern fits within the table's bounds.
The mod ships a built-in datapack with four recipes, including an Enchanted Golden Apple built from 26 gold blocks around a single apple and a stacked pattern using crying obsidian, Ghast tears and Dragon's Breath. Extrusion formulas let a recipe's 2D counterpart be generated automatically, and those extruded recipes are granted and revoked along with it. Bundled Registrar handles the registration work behind these features.
Volucraft is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 26.1.2 – 26.2, published under a custom license and not open source. It is installed on the client and the server. Source code and an issue tracker are publicly linked.
Key features
Three-dimensional crafting
The Amalgamation Table accepts ingredients in a 3×3×3 cube, so recipes can span several layers.
Larger shapeless recipes
Shapeless recipes accept up to 27 ingredients, compared with nine in the vanilla grid.
Translucent slots
Two built-in resource packs change slot rendering, one making every slot translucent and one making slots with items even less opaque.
Adjustable screen colors
An optional YACL config lets players set the translucency of slots and the color of the table screen's cube background.
Extrusion formulas
Extruders map a recipe namespace and path to a 2D counterpart, and default extruders are included for the built-in formulas.

How it compares
Translucent Glass is a Fabric mod that is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, with builds for 1.20 – 26.2, and it is a client-side mod. Archetect is also a Fabric mod for 26.1.2 – 26.3, but it is not open source and is released under All rights reserved. Volucraft needs both the client and the server, so it differs from these client-side options in where it runs.

What the author says
3D (Volumetric) Crafting in Minecraft! I've been waiting for this for so long... *Rotations, reflections, and translations are all accepted as long as the recipe remains within the bounds of the Amalgamation Table.
