Veggies Delight (A Farmer's Delight Add-on)

by Eggmain

Veggies Delight adds seven new vegetables and a foragable dandelion leaf to the food items of its base mod, with themed villages.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The add-on adds seven vegetables: Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Garlic, one root crop that grows underground, Turnip and Zucchini. Wild patches generate by biome: Bell Pepper appears in hot biomes, including deserts, while Broccoli grows in birch, flower, dark and common forests within a set temperature band. Dandelion Leaf can be foraged from Mature Dandelion flowers in plains biomes.

Each biome carries its own structure and loot, and Depot Houses are added to villages as storage buildings holding stocked goods. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge, for game versions 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with 1.9.3 as the latest file for both loaders. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the author asks that modified versions be labeled unofficial.

Key features

  1. Seven new vegetables

Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Garlic, a root crop, Turnip and Zucchini are added as harvestable crops and cookable ingredients.

  2. Foragable dandelion leaf

Dandelion Leaf is gathered from Mature Dandelion flowers that grow on plains biomes.

  3. Depot Houses

Village buildings that hold stocked goods, giving players a new place to find supplies.

  4. Biome-based wild vegetables

Each vegetable spawns only in the biomes assigned to it, so harvesting depends on where the player travels.

  5. Biome structures and loot

Every biome has its own structure and loot table, which changes what a player finds while exploring.

Use cases

Expanding a crop field

Players who grow crops can plant the new vegetables and cook them into the dishes the add-on introduces.

Exploring for supplies

Players who travel between biomes can collect vegetables from wild patches and loot from Depot Houses along the way.

Who it’s for: Players who run a food add-on base mod and want more crops and dishes, and server owners who want the same vegetables available to every player.
