VCFix

VCFix changes how the Carpentry Bench screen handles common actions. Shift-clicking an item from the hotbar or main inventory now moves the stack into the crafting grid on the first attempt. Pressing number keys inside the bench works the way it does elsewhere, and leftover items are returned to the player's inventory when the screen is closed instead of being dropped on the ground. Recipe matching is also changed so it no longer runs lazily, which removes an unexpected behaviour that could be exploited with some special recipes.

The bench's recipes get their own section in JEI, shown larger than the vanilla 3x3 grid can display. A JEI compatibility layer is included, and a separate addon carries the fixes for Varied Commodities. The mod depends on FermiumBooter, Varied Commodities and JEI. It is published for Forge only, for 1.12.2, with 1.0.4 as the latest file dated 2026-09-05. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source.
