Unlimited Chisel Works generates Chisel variants automatically for a wide set of blocks that other mods provide, so players do not have to craft each one by hand.
What it does
Unlimited Chisel Works is a Forge decoration mod for 1.10.2 – 1.12.2. It creates chisel variants for blocks from other mods using a set of simple generation rules, and it has to be loaded as late as possible so it can detect the blocks that are present. The mod runs on client and server, so both sides need it, and its source code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which makes it open source.
The author notes that adding new variants takes effort, because the generation is hacky and the 1.10 and 1.11 ports depend on load order. Block IDs grow quickly as more variants are generated, so a server that runs out of IDs cannot start the mod. The config file unlimitedchiselworks.cfg lets server owners disable the blocks that do not need chisel variants. Balance is not a goal of the generation: the author describes the result as 100% unbalanced.
