Unify
by MrTeki
Unify is a Fabric optimization mod that merges duplicate items from different mods into one unified version, configured through lists and rules.
What it does
Unify targets item duplication across resources, items, tags, loot tables, recipes and advancements. Each duplicate is replaced by a unified version that inherits the tags and recipes of the items it stands in for, so the gameplay built on them keeps working. Fewer near-identical items means a player meets less clutter when looking for what to craft or collect.
A set of global rules decides which items count as duplicates. A namespace priority list sets which mod's item becomes the unified version, and an ignore list keeps chosen items out of unification. A manual section lets the server owner pair specific items with a unified item, using a key and an array of duplicate items. Items such as raw lead from different mods, or a lead block and a lead storage block, can be grouped under one unified version under the patterns given.
Unify runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Fabric only, for 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.4, with 0.0.5 for 1.21.4 as the latest file. The code is released under the MIT License and is not open source.
Key features
Duplicate unification
Duplicate items are grouped so that one unified version carries the tags, recipes and loot entries of its duplicates.
Creative tab for duplicates
A creative tab lists the duplicate items that were found, and each tooltip names the unified version.
Right-click replacement
Right-clicking a duplicate item swaps it for the unified version.
Unification recipes
Crafting recipes are added that turn duplicates into the unified version.
Priority and ignore lists
Namespace priorities decide which item is unified, and an ignore list excludes items from being treated as duplicates.
