Trek
by hotsuop
Trek is a datapack that adds more than 150 custom structures to vanilla worlds, placed by biome and rarity.
What it does
Trek generates landmarks such as islands floating in the sky or sitting in water, pyramids, fortresses and mansions, along with houses, camps, ships, towers and ancient buildings. Smaller pieces appear too, including a campfire with food on it and ruins that mark where a structure once stood. Trek also reworks some vanilla structures so that finding them feels more exciting. The author plans to rework all vanilla structures in a later release.
Placement depends on biome: jungle treehouses appear in rainforests and snowmen in taigas. Weighted spawning keeps rare finds such as sunken cities scarce. Trek is a datapack with no mod code, so it preserves vanilla gameplay and works in single-player or on a server. The MIT License covers it, but the project is not open source. Installation requires no loader; the files are for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt worlds through data pack support. Server owners install it, and players can join with or without it. The latest build is B0.6.2+mod for 26.2.
Key features
Large landmark structures
Floating and water islands, pyramids, fortresses and mansions give explorers distant goals.
Varied small structures
Houses, camps, ships, towers and campfire scenes fill the spaces between the larger landmarks.
Biome-specific placement
Jungle treehouses occur in rainforests and snowmen in taigas, so each biome has its own character.
Weighted rare finds
Sunken cities and other rare structures are weighted to appear seldom, so finding them stays notable.
Overhauled vanilla structures
Some vanilla structures are reworked to make discovering them more engaging.
