Trank-O-Mat places soda vending machines in the world, where a player buys a can with a random effect from a stocked selection.
What it does
Two soda vending machines are added, and each one dispenses cans drawn from a catalog of more than 20 different soda flavors. Some of the cans carry one of more than 10 special effects, so a purchase can change how a player's character behaves for a while. The machines refill on their own once per in-game day, and the cans in stock are replaced automatically every three days.
Players who want the experience can take a can from a machine and see what it does, and the selection adds an element of chance that differs from a fixed potion recipe. The mod requires additional dependencies to load, and it works on both the client and the server. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering game versions 1.18.2 – 1.20.4 in 11 release versions, with 1.2.0 for 1.20.4 as the latest file, dated 2024-01-04. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The code is open source under the MIT License.
