ToolTip Pro

by Willsche

ToolTip Pro shows a villager's trades in the Jade tooltip, so players can read what a villager sells without opening the trading screen.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.21.11 – 26.2

What it does

Hovering over a villager with Jade installed brings up its trade list directly in the HUD tooltip. Each trade is drawn with item icons in a compact layout, and the enchanted book trades name the enchantment and its level, such as Mending or Protection IV. Trades that are locked or out of stock can be hidden, and the remaining ones are sorted alphabetically by result item.

Prices follow the real demand for each trade, including discounts and penalties, so the figures match what the trading screen would show. Trade data is sent from server to client through Jade's server data system, and the mod works on vanilla servers as long as Jade is installed there too. Tooltip layout options and a setting to hide specific trades are available for players who want a shorter display.

ToolTip Pro is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.11 and 26.2, with 1.1.0 for 26.2 as the latest file. It runs on the client alone, so players install it and servers do not need it. The code is under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source. Jade is a required dependency and must be installed alongside it.

Key features

  1. Trades in the Jade tooltip

Trade lists appear in the tooltip when a villager is looked at, with no trading interface to open.

  2. Icon-based trade layout

Trades use item icons instead of text, so the exchange can be read at a glance.

  3. Enchanted book names

Enchantment names and levels are written out for enchanted book trades, such as Mending and Protection IV.

  4. Hidden and sorted trades

Out-of-stock trades can be filtered, and the rest are sorted alphabetically by result item.

What the author says

See villager trades instantly — no GUI required. TooltipPro enhances the Jade / WAILA tooltip by displaying a villager’s trades directly in the HUD when you look at them. This removes the need to constantly open the trading interface just to check what a villager sells.
