Together Forever
by joesjo
Together Forever binds players into one chained group, so they share movement, health, hunger and inventory for cooperative survival challenges.
What it does
Players are tethered together with a chain item. Once chained, partners act as a single organism: one player eating feeds everyone, and one player dying ends the run for the whole group. Picking up an item or equipping armor gives it to every linked player, and the inventory, armor slots and offhand are shared across the group. Chains can be crafted from iron, and a player can be chained by right-clicking another player who holds one.
The chain is a physical tether. When players drift too far apart, the chain pulls them back together with spring-like physics, and it can snag on objects along the way. Holding space lets a player climb a chain. Several people can be chained in a series, such as A to B to C, and a new world can start with the group already linked. Together Forever requires Fabric API, and it runs on client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files are published for Fabric and Forge, across 1.20.1 – 26.2, under All rights reserved; the mod is not open source.
Key features
Shared health and hunger
Damage, healing and hunger are applied to all chained players at once, so the group survives or falls together.
Shared inventory
Linked players draw from one inventory, including armor slots and the offhand, and item pickups reach everyone.
Spring-like chain tether
Players who separate are pulled back toward each other, and the chain can catch on terrain and objects.
Commands and gamerule
Shared health, hunger and inventory can each be switched off with commands, and a gamerule disables chain block interactions.
