Timekeeper

by Nico314159

Timekeeper lets server owners measure average milliseconds per tick (MSPT) from a datapack, using a scoreboard variable to start and stop profiling.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalMIT LicenseOpen source1.19.4 – 1.21.4

What it does

Timekeeper is a server-side tick profiler for vanilla servers, delivered as a datapack. Setting the enabled scoreboard variable to a number of ticks makes the server track MSPT over that period, and when the period ends the average is printed to chat. Setting it to -1 keeps the profiler running indefinitely until it is stopped, and the final average is printed then, with a boss bar shown in the meantime.

Key features

  1. Tick-time averages

The datapack records average MSPT over a chosen number of ticks, such as 50, and posts the result to chat.

  2. Open-ended profiling

A value of -1 keeps measurement running, with a boss bar visible, until the profiler is turned off.

  3. Scoreboard control

Profiling is started and stopped through a single scoreboard variable, so no command plugin is needed.

What the author says

Using it is very simple. Just type in /scoreboard players set $enabled timekeeper.var, and the datapack will keep track of the MSPT for however many ticks you specify. Once the time is done, it will print the average MSPT over the period to chat. (e.g. "Average MSPT over 50 ticks: 5") If you want to continue…
