What it does

Ores for a range of metals such as aluminum, titanium, zinc, potassium, manganese and silicon can be found while exploring, along with mercury, which pools in caves filled with toxic vapor. The mod also reintroduces a series of alloys, and it reshapes some recipes so the crafting table no longer works as it did before. Changed recipes are learned from other mods and from in-game discovery rather than from a single guide.

The mod lists a large number of enchantments. Some are harmful, such as Life Repair, Anaerobic, Underwater Suffocation, while others add combat effects like Disarm, Poison and Quenching, or utility effects like Mobile Light Source and Chain Mining. Ore-rich areas and the new Calamity Dimension, a gathering place for illager villagers, are reached through a portal found in the Overworld, and the dimension is dangerous enough that visitors often arrive under a Bad Omen effect. Illusioners appear rarely, so the Bad Omen effect only comes from raids.

Key features

  1. Metals and alloys

Ores for aluminum, titanium, zinc and several other metals, with a series of alloys added to the progression.

  2. Toxic mercury caves

Mercury deposits sit in pools surrounded by toxic vapor, which players must handle carefully when mining them.

  3. Large enchantment set

Many new enchantments, including combat effects, utility effects and harmful effects that players must weigh against their benefits.

  4. Calamity Dimension

A new dimension reached through a broken portal in the Overworld, with illager villagers gathered in its open areas.

  5. Changed crafting recipes

Some recipes differ from vanilla, and an achievement system tracks progress through the altered items.

The mod is published for Forge only. Files exist for 1.12.2 and 1.20.1, with 1.1.0 for 1.20.1 as the latest release.

Does the server need the mod?

Yes. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.

Players reach the dimension through a broken portal in the Overworld and often arrive with a Bad Omen effect, which comes from raids in the dangerous world they enter.
