Luminous: Overworld
by RipleysMods
Luminous: Overworld overhauls several biomes and adds new ambient mobs, decorative blocks and legendary beasts to the base game.
What it does
The forest biome gets deer and fawns that run away when the player gets close, dropping venison that works like mutton. Squirrels come in four variants across forests and their flowered, dark and snowy relatives. Butterflies drift through the world in 21 variants, and taiga forests gain fireflies and taller trees.
Birch forests receive soft birch trees with yellow leaves. Deserts gain palm trees, crabs and buried ancient structures, while savannas gain tall trees native to hot grasslands, zebras and new grass and dirt types. Ten additional mob variants appear in the world, among them frigid zombies and skeletons for cold regions, miner zombies and skeletons below ground, and variants suited to swamps and savannas.
The mod is for Forge and NeoForge, and it needs both the server and every player to run it. Files cover 1.19.2 – 1.21.1 across five release versions, with the latest files for 1.20.1 on Forge and 1.21.1 on NeoForge. It is part one of a two-part project, and the author describes the second part as covering story, combat and new dimensions. The code is not open source and is licensed as All rights reserved.
