The Gnome

by cdxx-lxix

The Gnome adds a tamable gnome mob that lives below the surface and can be posed in place to decorate a base.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

A gnome can be befriended and tamed, and once tamed it can be ordered to sit or stand still. A seated or standing gnome cannot be pushed and stays motionless, so it works as a small statue in a build. The mob is meant as a decoration element, in the spirit of the gnomes found in Terraria.

Gnomes stay below ground level and are wary of sticks: when one sees a stick it panics. Occasionally a gnome breaks the silence with a sound, and it can teleport short distances with a mischievous laugh. Random teleport intervals and ambient sounds can be adjusted in the config.

The Gnome runs on Forge for 1.20.1 only and must be installed on both client and server. It requires Geckolib, and its code is not open source; the mod is licensed as All rights reserved. Public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.

What the author says

The Gnome dwells below the surface level (obviously). You can befriend him and use as a decoration element (almost like Terraria's gnomes). He likes rocks, any stone tool material will do. When tamed you can order to sit and stand still. While sitting or standing the Gnome is unpushable and won't make any moves or…
