The Darkness Will Find You

The mod expands the Deep Dark with a merciless horror experience built around a survival-focused curse. After the curse begins, nights grow unsafe, sleep is no longer dependable, and the dark dimensions respond to the player. Sculk spreads, creatures gather, and unsettling events occur, pushing the player to look for protection and knowledge that can end the curse. Dangerous sculk creatures follow custom behavior, and the horror events are tied to the sculk, darkness, sleep and the night cycle.

The mod adds new underground structures to explore, strange magical items and new equipment for survival progression, sculk-based crafting, and a villager profession with its own trades. An in-game guide opens chapters as the player advances. Progression is advancement-based, and the threat stays active long after the player first enters the Deep Dark. Balance is kept close to vanilla, with the Warden meant to remain a serious threat.

Installation requires the loader's matching build. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. Its latest Fabric and NeoForge files target 26.2 and its latest Forge file targets 1.20.1.
