The Chicken Ghost

The Chicken Ghost is a Forge mob mod in which a vengeful spirit begins hunting the player after enough chickens have been slain.
What it does
Each chicken killed pushes the Chicken Ghost through three phases. At phase 0 nothing happens. After 8 chickens the ghost enters phase 1, makes a sound and sends a warning to chat, and it begins to stalk the player. After 4 more chickens it enters phase 2, spawns only at night, always faces the nearest player and vanishes when the player comes within 16 blocks. After 6 more chickens it reaches phase 3, where it turns aggressive and destructive, breaks wood and glass, and chases the player out of spite. Defeating the ghost stops the haunting, though a later batch of slain chickens can bring it back.
The mod requires Geckolib and is built with MCreator. The server and every player need the mod installed. The mod is published for Forge only, with builds for 1.19.2, 1.19.4 and 1.20.1. Its latest file, 1.0.0, targets 1.20.1 and was released on 2026-06-07. The code is under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
Version 1.19.2 lacks the shield and the newer structure generation and custom villagers that appear in the 1.20.1 build, so the feature set differs between the two.

Phased escalation
The ghost's behavior changes at phases set by chicken kill counts, from a warning to open pursuit.

In phase 2 the ghost spawns only during the night and vanishes when the player gets within 16 blocks.

In phase 3 the ghost becomes aggressive and breaks wood and glass while chasing the player.
Defeat ends the event
Once the ghost is defeated the haunting stops until enough chickens are killed again.
