Sunken Sailor Origin is a Fabric add-on for the Origins mod that gives players an undead pirate origin, first released on 2026-01-22.

What it does

The origin turns a player into an undead sailor who reacts to water and light in its own way. Healing and harm potions swap roles, poison has no effect, and the Drowned mob may stop being hostile toward the player. Going onto land without water causes damage over time, so the origin keeps the player near the sea.

Dependencies are Fabric API and Origins, both required. Sunken Sailor Origin runs only on the server, so players join without installing anything. It is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, for Minecraft 1.21.1 only, with the latest Fabric file dated 2026-02-03.

Key features

  1. Undead healing

    Healing potions harm the sailor and harm potions heal it, and the sailor is immune to poison.

  2. Underwater abilities

    Breathing underwater can be toggled, and the origin grants night vision and Depth Strider while submerged.

  3. Water dependence

    Standing on land without water causes damage over time, so the sailor has to return to the sea.
