Strictly Origins

by Orangejewce92

Strictly Origins adds a set of Forge origins, each with a passive trait and an active ability, for players who choose a race at the start of a world.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.16.5 – 1.20.1

What it does

Each origin in Strictly Origins is built around a theme. Fire Bolt is the main ability of one origin, Poison Ivy Vines is the primary ability of another, and Praise Sun is the primary ability of a third. Other origins change how the player moves, sees and takes damage: jumping higher with reduced fall damage, a towering stature around two and a half blocks tall, forest vision, hyper sight, and extra damage while gliding with elytra. Some origins also shift the balance of the day and night, granting boosted speed in daylight and weakness in low light.

Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It is published for Forge only, with files for 1.16.5 – 1.20.1. Using the size-changing origins requires Pehkui, and the Pehkui config option KeepScaleOnRespawn must be set to true so that a player returns to human size after death. Strictly Origins is not open source and is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Fire Bolt and fire-based hits

The Fire Bolt origin uses a fire bolt as its main ability, and hitting an enemy can set it on fire.

  2. Poison Ivy Vines

The Poison Ivy origin sends out a vine that applies poison to a target, and shift right-clicking plants with an empty hand makes them grow.

  3. Light-based origins

Blissful Light grants boosted speed during the day, while Light Deprivation brings weakness at low light levels.

  4. Undead and holy traits

Protection Undead and Holy Life change how the player fares against undead enemies, and Undead cause more damage to the player in other origins.

  5. Durendal and item bonuses

Holding the Durendal sword gives a damage boost, and the Information origin explains how to repair the sword.
