Solar Helmet
by canitzp
Solar Helmet puts a solar panel into a helmet, so wearing it charges Forge Energy while the wearer stands in sunlight.
What it does
A solar helmet module is applied to a helmet, and the helmet then gets a new tooltip text that appears when it is worn. Crafting the module together with a helmet produces the solar version. While the wearer is in direct sunlight, the helmet generates energy at a default rate of 15 FE per tick, and the maximum production is capped by that value. Energy is stored internally and cannot be taken out of the helmet itself, so a battery placed in the inventory is the only way to extract it, and the transfer limit decides how quickly a battery can be drained.
The helmet follows the in-game day cycle. The daytime value runs from 0 to 24000 for one day, and the day starts at a count of 24000 plus 6000. Solar Helmet is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it is published for Forge and NeoForge across 15 release versions, 1.18 – 1.21.8. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too.
