Small Chisel

Small Chisel adds a family of chisel tools that break blocks faster than a pickaxe, including an early-game option for stone and a diamond tier for obsidian.
What it does
The Wooden Chisel breaks three blocks at a time and lets a player skip the wooden pickaxe, while the Diamond Chisel breaks sixteen blocks and can excavate obsidian for building a Nether portal. Chisels have low durability, so they wear out quickly. The mod runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it, and it is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 and 1.21.

A low-durability chisel breaks stone quickly, so a player can move past the wooden pickaxe stage.
Obsidian chisel
The diamond-tier chisel excavates obsidian, which makes Nether portal construction possible earlier.

Each chisel breaks a group of blocks in one action, with the group size rising with the tier.
