SleepLog

by laxdude22

Server owners who want a record of bed use can run SleepLog, a Fabric mod that logs when players start sleeping and when the night is skipped.

FabricServer-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.21.11 – 26.1.2

What it does

SleepLog writes sleep activity to the server log. It records when a player starts sleeping, how many players are asleep at that moment, which players they are, and when the night is skipped. The mod is a server-side only addition, so players join without installing anything, and Fabric API is required beside it.

The mod is published for Fabric only, across three release versions 1.21.11 – 26.1.2, with files for 1.21.11, 26.1.1 and 26.1.2. The latest file, 1.3.6 for 26.1.2, dates from 2026-04-07. Its code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and the source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Sleep start entries

Each time a player gets into a bed, an entry is written to the server log with the player's name.

  2. Sleeping player count

The log shows how many players are asleep at the moment, so an admin can see how close a night skip is.

  3. Sleeping player list

The names of the players who are asleep are listed alongside the count, making it clear who is holding the night.

  4. Night skip entries

When the night is skipped, the event is logged, giving a timeline of skips on the server.

Use cases

Monitoring a survival server

An admin can check the log to see which players sleep through nights and how often a skip happens.

Tracking sleep disputes

The timestamped entries show who entered a bed and when, which helps settle questions about a night skip.

Who it’s for: Server owners and administrators who want sleep and night skip activity recorded in the server log. Players do not need the mod on their side.

How it compares

Full comparison

Sleep Control is server-side only and is not open source; its files cover 1.21 – 1.21.11 under All rights reserved. Disable Sleep is server-side only, not open source, and published for 26.2. SleepLog differs from these by logging sleep activity rather than changing how the night is skipped.
