Sledgehammer
by LXGaming
Sledgehammer is a Forge optimization and patch mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 that fixes several known issues in Forge and vanilla code.
What it does
Sledgehammer applies a set of targeted fixes using the SpongePowered Mixin library, which patches issues in Minecraft and Forge mods at runtime. Its listed changes include a fix for a reported issue numbered 3474, a change that skips reloading the search tree to speed up joining a server, and a larger allowed length for world type names in the join game packet. It also makes LazyLoad thread-safe, which addresses MC-68381.
The mod is listed under Optimization, with Utility as a secondary category. It can be installed on a client or a server, and neither side needs it, so players on a server running it do not have to add it themselves. It is also available for Sponge, and the author notes that the jar contains a -sponge build with dependencies already present in a Sponge environment. Compatibility is stated for Forge, SpongeForge and SpongeVanilla.
Sledgehammer is open source under the Apache License 2.0 and has public source code and an issue tracker. Its only published game version is 1.12.2, and the latest Forge file is 1.12.2-2.0.26, released on 2024-04-15.
