Skip Server Resource Packs

by AdelinaM17n

Skip Server Resource Packs lets players join servers that require a resource pack without fetching or applying it.

FabricQuiltClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.19 – 1.21.10

What it does

The mod works only after a server prompts the player to accept its resource pack. Once the prompt appears, the Server Resource Packs option in the Info tab can be switched to Disabled, which declines the pack, or to Enabled, which applies it afterwards. Players who decline still join, and the option can be changed again later if they want the pack.

Because the mod runs entirely on the client, a server owner needs no change to the server side. Only the client that connects runs it, so players install it themselves on Fabric or Quilt. The current builds cover 1.19 – 1.21.10 and include snapshot builds, and the first files were published on 2023-03-21.

Installation needs only the loader itself. Skip Server Resource Packs is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Decline server resource packs

When a server prompts for its resource pack, the player can decline it and still stay on the server.

  2. Pack selection by prompt

The mod takes effect only once the server asks for its pack, so players see the choice at the moment it matters.

  3. Enable a pack later

A player who declined the prompt can change the option to Enabled afterwards and apply the server pack.

Questions

Does Skip Server Resource Packs need to be installed on the server?

Why does the option not appear until the server prompts for a pack?

The mod only takes effect after the server asks the player to accept its resource pack.

Can a player decline a pack and enable it later?
