Simple Datapacks
by BizCub
Simple Datapacks gives players a folder for placing datapacks, so they can add data packs without the usual install steps and load them on a server.
What it does
The mod creates a folder named datapacks in the root directory of Minecraft. Any datapack placed there is read when the game loads, so players do not need to edit world files by hand. Datapacks add content and rules that many players find worth trying, but installing them is harder than adding a mod or a resource pack, which keeps some players away.
The mod runs on the server and is required there, while the client can leave it out. Because its settings are not reachable on the server, the server uses every datapack in that folder automatically. Cloth Config API, Mod Menu and Simple Config Lib are optional and add a settings menu where the folder name can be changed. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, covering 1.16.5 – 26.3 with 35 release versions, and the latest files target 26.3. Snapshot builds are published as well. The code is open source under the MIT License.
