Bone Block Fix
by ItzSilver_
Bone Block Fix changes the recipe that turns bones into bone blocks, so bone meal can be stacked in larger amounts than the vanilla recipe allows.
What it does
Vanilla crafting turns nine bones into one bone block, while the bone block itself turns back into bone meal instead of bones. Bone Block Fix swaps those two recipes so the block returns nine bones when uncrafted, and bone meal ends up stacking to 27 per slot instead of the usual nine. Players who mainly want a large supply of bone meal get it without changing any other item.
The mod is a lightweight datapack, not a Java mod, and it changes only two recipes. Because the loader-specific files all carry the same datapack, it runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt alike, and it also works as a plain datapack on a server. Server owners who prefer a server-only install can use it without any client-side setup, though a client can run it as well.
The mod is published for 1.20 – 1.21.8, with the latest file, for 1.21.8, dated 2025-09-11. It was first published on the same date and has not been updated since. It is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
Key features
Reversed bone block recipe
Uncrafting a bone block returns nine bones, so the block works as a compact store of bones.
Larger bone meal stacks
Bone meal stacks to 27 per slot instead of nine, cutting the number of slots needed for a large supply.
Two recipes changed
Only the bone block recipes are altered, leaving the rest of the game as it is.
Datapack format
The mod is a datapack, so it needs no Java mod loader and can be dropped into a world's datapacks folder.
