Better Withered Mobs

Better Withered Mobs changes how Wither Skeletons and other withered mobs drop bones, so that they yield Withered Bones and Withered Bone Meal instead of regular bone.

What it does

Withered mobs no longer drop regular Bones; they drop Withered Bones instead, with the same drop rates as normal bone. A config option can turn this off and restore the vanilla behavior. Wither Skeletons can drop Withered Bones, and so can Naga Skulls from the Better Nether mod.

Withered Bones can be turned into Withered Bone Meal, and nine Withered Bone Meal form a Withered Bone Block. Withered Bone Meal is effective only on Warped Nylium and Crimson Nylium: on those blocks it grows warped or crimson fungus, and occasionally a wither rose. Brewing a wither rose into an Awkward Potion gives a potion of decay, which can be made stronger, longer lasting or thrown as lingering or splash potions.

The mod is published for Fabric only, for 25 release versions 1.16.5 – 26.2, with 1.7.22 as the latest Fabric file for 26.2. It is released under the Apache License 2.0, and the code is open source. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. Fabric API, Fabric Language Kotlin, oωo (owo-lib) and SmushyTaco Required Dependencies are required; Mod Menu is optional.

This mod makes it so Wither Skeletons have a chance to drop Withered Bones and will no longer drop regular Bones (This can be disabled in the config). If you have the Better Nether mod the Naga and the Skull will also drop Withered Bones and will no longer drop regular Bones (This can be disabled in the config).
