Shape Shifter Curse lets players gradually transform into different forms based on vanilla creatures, each with its own models and possible special animations.
What it does
A player takes on a form over time, and each form is tied to a vanilla creature. Forms carry their own models and, in some cases, special animations. The mod is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published under the MIT License as open source, with the latest Fabric build at 1.9.2 for 1.20.1, dated 2026-06-14.
The mod also includes a visual color menu for adjusting the look of a form. It opens from a new button in the Book of Shape Shifter configuration menu, lets players set RGB sliders and preview the result on the model, and requires Mod Menu. Spider forms add a silk ability system for shooting web projectiles and building climbable webs, along with spider-exclusive trinkets that use extra hand slots.
Shape Shifter Curse Addon, SSC True Feral Addon, SSC Perma Form Storage and Bond of the Beast - Shape Shifter Curse Addon all require the base mod, so they are installed alongside it. Forms are granted through advancements, and vanilla recipes make several form accessories and tools available to craft.
