What it does

Satin Free Wakes is a client-side Fabric mod that draws water effects around boats and players. Waves are simulated after all entities, appear at the oars of a boat, and spray out to either side as the boat moves. A player who drops into water produces a splash. The author describes it as a free, lighter version of a wake effect mod, and states that it runs about three times the frame rate of the regular version.

Only the client needs the mod, so a server can run without it and players join without installing anything. It is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the source code and issue tracker are public. Files exist for 1.21, 1.21.1 and 1.21.4, with 0.2.2-1.21.4 for 1.21.4 as the latest Fabric build, published on 2025-01-30. The mod was first published on 2024-08-11.
