Salt: Renewed is a NeoForge port for 1.21.1 that adds a salting mechanic to food, plus rock salt and salt blocks found in the world.
What it does
Salted food gains a better taste and extra nutrition, and the salting recipe is driven by a configurable salt tag that includes salted items. Nutrition values are set per food, so server owners can tune the effect for each item. Farmer's Delight and several other mods work without extra setup.
Rock Salt generates underground in a similar way to ores, and in dripstone caves, ocean and beach biomes. Harvesting a Rock Salt Ore drops Raw Rock Salt, which can be crafted into salt. Salt can also be obtained by growing Salt Crystals and evaporating water in a cauldron. Salt blocks dissolve in water. The mod is client and server, so both sides need it, and it is released under the MIT License as open source for 1.21.1 on NeoForge.

Optional toggles
Two opt-in toggles in the salt-common.toml file under PortTweaks change how the mod behaves, and nutrition values are configurable per food.
