What it does

Sable Beyond extends the Sable mod with extra features, quality-of-life changes and compatibility support. Its stated aim is to add ideas that the main mod does not include while keeping gameplay consistent with Sable. Sable is a required dependency, and Create is optional; without Create, the Create-related blocks are simply absent.

Entities respond to forces according to a configured mass value. An advanced config lets server owners write formulas with operators and functions to tune those mass calculations. Several features are disabled by default, so the config should be checked after installation. Files exist for NeoForge and Fabric, both for 1.21.1, under the MIT License, and the source code is public. Cloth Config API is bundled inside the mod.

Key features

  1. Mass-based entity forces

Entities react to forces according to their configured mass, producing more realistic movement.

  2. Formula-driven mass config

Operators and functions can be combined in formulas to fine-tune mass calculations for entities.

  3. Contents-aware fluid blocks

Supported Create fluid blocks such as Fluid Tanks and Basins change their mass with the fluid they hold.

  4. Fire across sublevels

Lava ignites flammable blocks inside sublevels, fire spreads between sublevels and the real world, and water or solid blocks put it out.

  5. Sublevel automation

Mechanical Arms work across Sable sublevels, and Encased Fans can push and pull whole sublevels.

Use cases

Sublevel contraptions

Builders who move whole sublevels with fans or arms can tune how heavy each entity and fluid container is.

Fluid handling

Basins that are upside-down drop their items, and fluid leaking from one can be transferred to a container it is aimed at.

Who it’s for: Players who already use Sable and want its physics, fire and fluid behavior extended. Server owners who want to adjust mass formulas on a multiplayer world. The mod is in alpha, so backing up a world before installing it is advised, and bugs go to the GitHub issue tracker.
