Raise Sound Limit Simplified
by ishland
Raise Sound Limit Simplified lifts the cap on simultaneous sound sources in the Minecraft sound engine and moves most of its processing off the render thread.
What it does
The mod changes how the client plays sounds: most sound processing runs away from the render thread, and most sound engine methods are made non-blocking, which keeps frame rates steadier when many sounds play at once. It is a client-side only mod, so only the client needs it and servers run without it.
Loaders and versions: the mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, with game versions 1.17.1 – 26.3 and snapshot builds included. It is released under the MIT License and is open source.
Key features
Higher sound source limit
Raises the number of sound sources the engine can play at the same time, so busy scenes lose fewer sounds.
Off-thread sound processing
Most sound processing is moved off the render thread, reducing the load on frame rendering.
Non-blocking sound methods
Most sound engine methods are made non-blocking, aiming for steadier fps when sound-heavy situations arise.

Latest build for each game version and loader.
