RideableRavagers

by Salandora

Ravagers can be bred with steak, tamed over time, and fitted with a saddle so players can ride them, with an optional config that spawns them in savannah biomes.

What it does

RideableRavagers lets players breed Ravagers with steak. Offspring start out untamed, and feeding them more steak while they are young makes them tame. A tamed Ravager grows into an adult, and right-clicking it with a saddle lets a player ride it. A config menu can also place Ravagers in savannah biomes during world generation, for players who never breed one.

The mod runs on the client and the server, so both sides need it. Installation needs Fabric API on Fabric, and Forge requires its own extra dependencies. MidnightLib is required on every loader and is bundled inside the mod, and its config system handles the mod's settings. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, across five release versions in the 1.20.1 – 1.21.8 range. The code is under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later, so the mod is open source, and the source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Breeding with steak

Ravagers breed when fed steak, which gives players a way to produce new mounts.

  2. Taming and growth

Offspring become tame through repeated feeding and grow into adult Ravagers over time.

  3. Saddle riding

A tamed adult Ravager accepts a saddle, and right-clicking it with the saddle lets a player ride.

  4. Savannah spawns

A config option makes Ravagers appear in savannah biomes.

What the author says

This was a request by FairyFlorra and I found the idea interesting, so here is the mod now for everyone. This mod allows you to breed Ravagers with steak. Beware, they won't like you even if you feed them.
