Respite Bench

by amber1093

Respite Bench adds a bench that players rest at to set a respawn point, refill their flasks and clear potion effects, in a Fabric mod for 1.20.1.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1

What it does

A bench works as a rest point. Using one sets the player's spawn point, refills the flasks with health potions and clears potion effects, and heals the player to full health. Flasks are crafted from three flask shards and refilled at any bench after dying, which gives the mod a souls-like rhythm of resting and returning to the enemies that respawn around the bench.

The mod adds a new kind of spawner, the respawner, which works like a vanilla spawner except that it only spawns mobs while a bench is in use nearby. A respawner keeps track of the mobs it has spawned and stops once it reaches its limit. A trapped variant emits a short redstone pulse of two ticks when a player spawns it. Right-clicking a block in creative mode opens a set of settings for adjusting the respawner. Items are not obtainable in survival by default, so the mod is aimed at custom maps and creative building rather than classic survival play.

Respite Bench needs Cloth Config API and Fabric API, and Mod Menu is optional. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The latest Fabric file is 1.2.10+1.20.1 for 1.20.1, released 2024-08-13, and the code is open source under the MIT License.

What the author says

This mod introduces rest points and respawnable enemies in the form of a bench, flask and a new type of spawner, namely the "Mob Respawner". You can rest and refill your flasks at a bench. But be careful, as this will allow all respawners to spawn mobs again!
