Region Mod
by uOrb
Region Mod lets server owners mark areas as protected regions, with smaller subregions inside them for individual plots.
What it does
Region Mod is a Fabric server mod for protecting areas from unauthorized building, breaking and interacting. Server owners create a region with the region create command and remove one with region remove. When a player acts inside a protected area, the mod checks whether that player is inside a region or subregion and blocks the action unless the player owns it. Interactions such as opening doors, chests and buttons are covered as well.
Subregions sit inside regions and override them, which suits individual plots within a larger protected area. Each subregion is owned by a player identified by UUID, and region data is saved automatically through PersistentState. Players with permission level 4 can bypass the protection. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own. Region Mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source; it targets 1.21.4 and 26.1.2, with 1.2.0 for 26.1.2 as the latest file.
Key features
Regions and subregions
Protected regions can hold smaller subregions, so a single large area can contain owned plots.
Owner-based access
Each subregion is tied to a player UUID, and only that owner may build, break or interact inside it.
Admin bypass
Operators with permission level 4 can act inside protected areas, for moderation and maintenance.
Automatic saving
Region and subregion data is stored with PersistentState and kept without manual saving.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Small and medium servers
Server owners of small or medium servers can guard spawn areas, builds and shared spaces with a few commands.
Private worlds
Groups playing on private or community worlds can give each member a subregion for their own plot.
Who it’s for: Server owners and administrators who want simple, lightweight area protection on Fabric servers. Players only need to join the server; the mod is not required on their clients.
How it compares
RegionCast is a Fabric mod that requires the server, with clients optional, and is open source under the MIT License; its files cover 1.21 – 26.3. AreaProtection is server-side only, published for 1.21.11 – 26.2, and is not open source, as its license is All rights reserved. Region Mod shares the server-only environment with AreaProtection and the MIT License with RegionCast, while it targets 1.21.4 and 26.1.2.
