Redstone Multimeter Fabric
by Space Walker
Redstone Multimeter Fabric brings NarcolepticFrog's original Redstone Multimeter to Fabric, and it is a debugging aid that records redstone activity on virtual meters set down in a world.
What it does
Players place virtual meters on redstone components and the mod records the events each one reports, including when a block is powered, moved or updated. A heads-up overlay anchored to the upper left of the screen lists recorded events, so the sequence in which signals fire stays readable as a circuit runs. Players can pause the display and scroll through the logs at their own pace with hotkeys.
The heads-up display has three parts: a meter list where each meter has its own row showing its name, a primary event viewer with a graph of the logs over a 60 game tick period, and a secondary event viewer that appears on demand and shows the order of events within a selected tick. Meters can be grouped under unique names, and only the logs of the selected group are shown when several groups exist. A group is subscribed with a command, and the list of groups is available through a meter listGroups command; subcommands for changing a group are limited to its owner. The original mod was a LiteLoader mod for 1.12 that stopped at 1.12.2, and this Fabric port carries the tool forward.
Builds are published for Fabric, Quilt and Ornithe across 95 release versions, 1.3.1 – 26.2, with the latest Fabric and Quilt file for 26.2 and the latest Ornithe file for 1.13.2.
Key features
Virtual meters
Meters are placed in the world and record the redstone events of the blocks they watch, without changing the circuit.
Event log overlay
The primary viewer graphs logs over a 60 game tick period and usually shows the most recent entries, so events scroll in real time.
Secondary event viewer
A hidden graph that appears on demand and shows the order of events within a selected tick, useful for timing questions.
Meter groups
Meters can be collected into named groups, and the overlay shows the logs of a single subscribed group at a time.
Pause and scroll
Hotkeys pause the overlay so players can scroll through logged events at their own pace.
