Redstone Expansion

by sea-sky-coder

Redstone Expansion adds a set of redstone components for pushing and pulling blocks, transferring items through chests, and adjusting signal strength, for players who build with redstone circuits.

FabricClient and serverMIT License26.1.2 – 26.3

What it does

Several of the added components automate tasks that otherwise need manual work. One pushes pistons, one interacts with block entities a set distance ahead, and one excavates blocks in front of it. Their reach depends on the strength of the redstone signal they receive, and the example uses given by the author include fertilizing crops, opening doors and building roads.

A remote chest transmitter moves items between chests over a channel. It has two modes, input and output, and both kinds of chest need a redstone signal to work. Transmission speed also follows the signal strength. Other parts convert continuous signals into pulses, output a chosen signal level and collect items within a radius of 7, and a force-loading block keeps the surrounding area active.

The mod is published for Fabric only, across 3 release versions: 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3. Its latest file is 1.0.3-26.3 for 26.3. It runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it, and it is released under the MIT License, which is not open source.

Key features

  1. Piston automation

A component pushes and pulls up to 15 blocks ahead, with the number of blocks set by the input signal strength.

  2. Remote item transfer

A chest transmitter moves items between chests on the same channel, with an input and an output mode.

  3. Signal conversion

Continuous input signals can be turned into pulses, and the pulse frequency is adjusted with a right click.

  4. Force loading

A block keeps the surrounding blocks loaded, and a right click shows the loaded block range.

Does Redstone Expansion need Fabric API?

No required dependency is listed for Fabric.

Must the mod be installed on the server?

How does the remote chest transmitter work?

Both chests need a redstone signal to work, and transmission speed depends on the signal strength received. Input and output modes set which direction items move.

What the author says

Added many practical redstone components, very suitable for players who love redstone. Each component can be pushed by a piston for automation. It can interact with blocks or entities ahead, with the farthest interaction distance equal to the strength of the received redstone signal. For example, fertilizing, opening…
