Recolored

by Tejty

Recolored lets players dye blocks with a small brush, and a colorizing table and a painter villager extend the same recoloring to items and to the wider world.

ForgeClient and serverMIT License1.19.4 – 1.20.1

What it does

A brush item, once dyed, colorizes other blocks on right click, so a block can be recolored with a single brush click. Colorizing covers blocks that carry a color variation, such as wool and glass, while blocks like grass and stone cannot be colorized. Each clicked block changes to one color variation, for example a lime wool block or a light blue stained glass pane.

The colorizing table extends the process to items, and a painter villager offers the same work through trades. Colorizing can also be automated with dispensers, which makes the mod useful for builds that need many blocks in matching shades. Recolored is released for Forge, for the 1.19.4 and 1.20.1 game versions, with 2.0.0 for 1.20.1 as the latest file.

Recolored runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. The mod is released under the MIT License, and its issue tracker accepts bug reports, ideas and improvement requests from the community.

Key features

  1. Single-click brush recoloring

A dyed brush recolors a clicked block in one right click, changing it to the brush's color.

  2. Color variation cycling

Each click moves a block to a different color variation, so blocks with several shades can be cycled through.

  3. Colorizing table

A table colorizes items, extending recoloring beyond placed blocks to the inventory.

  4. Automated colorizing

Dispensers can colorize blocks automatically, so a build can be recolored without manual clicks.
