Recipe Fixer

by TonimatasDEV

Recipe Fixer repairs crafting recipes that break when several mods are installed together, so the game can keep loading them.

What it does

Recipe Fixer targets recipe data that the game rejects: invalid or corrupted recipes, shaped and shapeless recipes with broken contents, and entries that reference a tag id that does not exist. Ignoring these broken entries keeps the game from sending invalid recipe packets to players, which is the problem the mod is aimed at. The author describes it as especially useful when several mods add recipes and their entries clash or stop loading correctly.

Recipe Fixer is published for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt, with one file per loader for 1.21.1. Either side can run it, and neither needs it. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source, with the source code and issue tracker publicly linked. The first release was made in July 2025 and the latest update came in September 2026.

Key features

  1. Invalid recipe handling

Recipes whose data is corrupted or invalid are skipped instead of stopping the recipe loading process.

  2. Broken shaped and shapeless recipes

Shaped and shapeless recipes with broken contents are ignored, which avoids invalid packets reaching players.

  3. Missing tag ids

Recipes that point to a tag id that does not exist are handled so they do not cause errors.

  4. Conflict prevention

Recipe clashes between mods that add crafting entries are reduced, helping modpacks with many recipe sources.

Use cases

Who it’s for: Modpack makers and server owners who run several content mods at once and see crafting failures or recipe-related connection errors will find the mod relevant. Players installing a single mod with no recipe conflicts have less reason to add it.

How it compares

Full comparison

SaveRestorer is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1 under the MIT License and is open source, but it handles saves rather than recipes, and either side can run it. Anti Player Crasher is a Fabric mod for 1.21.10 only, released under the MIT License and not open source, and it runs on the client alone.

Does the server need Recipe Fixer?

No. The mod can be installed on the server, on the client, or on both, and neither side requires it.
