Minecraft, But It Rains Random Blocks..
by Bebu
Minecraft, But It Rains Random Blocks is a Minigame datapack in which hundreds of block types fall from the sky and gradually reshape the terrain of a survival world.
What it does
Random blocks begin to fall from the sky, turning a normal survival world into a chaotic, constantly changing landscape. Simple stone, dirt, rare ores and decorative blocks arrive alongside more dangerous materials, so players have to adapt quickly, dodge falling blocks and use the unpredictable terrain to their advantage. Mountains can rise where none stood before, caves can be sealed shut, and valuable resources can drop straight out of the rain.
The datapack works in singleplayer and multiplayer worlds and is described as lightweight and optimized for long-term survival. It works alongside most vanilla-friendly datapacks. The server must run it, while players may join without it. Builds are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the datapack is also offered as a data pack. The MIT License covers it, and it is not open source. The current files target 26.1 – 26.3, with 1.2.0 for 26.3 as the latest.
Key features
Continuous block rainfall
Random blocks keep falling from the sky, so the landscape evolves naturally as blocks accumulate over time.
Hundreds of block types
The rain draws from a large pool of block types, from common stone and dirt to rare ores and decorative blocks.
Rainfall as a resource source
Valuable resources can be collected from the falling blocks, making the storm a source of materials as well as a threat.
Random structures
A large collection of random structures appears in the world, adding a further layer of unpredictability to each playthrough.
