PortalFriends, a Kulerovic social mod, lets players find friends, chat and team up across different Minecraft versions and loaders.

What it does

A global social network runs inside the game, so players can add friends, see which friends are online and open a chat with one hotkey, the Tilde key. The friends list stays visible in the game and the profile view shows a player's current state, which makes it quick to see who could play together right now.

The network is built to bring together players on different builds. Someone on Fabric 1.21.1 can see and talk with a friend on Forge 1.12.2, and the same goes for the older 1.7.10 line. Game versions and mod lists still differ, so co-op play is only possible between players on the same version and loader, while the social features work across them.

Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. The latest Fabric and Forge files are 1.1.1 for 1.21.1, released 2026-07-09, and the latest NeoForge file is 1.1.1 for 1.20.6. Builds exist for nine versions 1.7.10 – 1.21.1, and the mod is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
