Pokemon Commands
by _Random4
Players type a command in chat to see a Pokémon's types, weaknesses, resistances and immunities, and the lookup happens inside the game.
What it does
The mod adds a small set of commands that answer questions about Pokémon typing. Each command also has a short alias. Pokemon Commands does not add Pokémon; it only provides information commands, and it works alongside Cobblemon or other Pokémon-themed modpacks.
A type lookup shows the effectiveness chart for a single type. Entering two types calculates the combined weaknesses, resistances and immunities of a dual-typed Pokémon. A species lookup shows the typing, weaknesses, resistances and immunities of a specific Pokémon, together with its base stats, base stat total and abilities. The commands are useful during battles or while planning a team, when a player would otherwise switch to an external wiki.
The mod is a Fabric utility, published for 1.21.1 only as file 1.1.1, dated 2025-09-06. Only the client needs it, so servers run without it. The code is released under All rights reserved, so the mod is not open source.
Key features
Single-type chart
A command shows the effectiveness chart for one type, listing what it hits hard, what it resists and what it cannot affect.
Dual-type calculation
Two types can be entered together to calculate the combined weaknesses, resistances and immunities.
Species details
A lookup returns typing, base stats, base stat total and abilities for a specific Pokémon.
Command aliases
Both commands accept short aliases, so frequent lookups take fewer keystrokes in chat.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Who it’s for: Players of Cobblemon or other Pokémon-themed modpacks who want type and matchup information inside the game. Modpack authors can include it without affecting server-side play.
How it compares
Cobblemon Pokemon Hider is a client-side Fabric mod for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 under All rights reserved, and it hides Pokémon rather than listing their types. Cobblemon Detail Viewer is also client-side and Fabric-only for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, and it displays details in a different form. More Cobblemon Stats runs on Fabric and NeoForge for 1.21.1 under CC0 1.0 Universal, and it is client and server, so it must be installed on both sides.
