Platform Precision

by kyh148

Platform Precision helps players build flat platforms quickly and safely by placing a single row of blocks at a time, which suits building platforms for a base or a large construction.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.19 – 1.19.3

What it does

A player stands at one end of the intended row and presses F7 to start placing. Blocks then go down in a line as the player strafes sideways, and holding the placing button keeps the strafe steady. Pressing F7 again ends the row, after which the player can move up and build the next row. Positioning the player above air blocks keeps them from falling off the platform while building.

The mod is a client-side only utility, so only the client needs it and servers run without it. Installation needs Fabric, along with ConfigLib148, Mod Menu and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL), which are required dependencies. The key that starts and stops placement is configured by the player, and the default settings are described in the tutorial. The project is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and its source code is publicly available.

Key features

  1. Row-by-row placement

Blocks are placed in a single row that the player can extend in a straight line from one end to the other.

  2. Safe sideways strafing

Holding the placing button while strafing sideways lays the row without the player stepping off the edge.

  3. Configurable trigger key

The key that starts and ends placement can be changed, and the defaults are documented in the tutorial.

  4. Configurable options

Most of the mod's behavior can be adjusted through its configuration screen, which opens from Mod Menu.

What the author says

A simple mod designed to make building platforms quicker and easier. Just build a single row of blocks (or top slabs!) and stand at one of the ends, then press F7 (or whatever key you configured it to) to position yourself. Now you can safely strafe sideways to the other end while holding down your block placing…
