Path Speed Enchantment

by lullaby

Path Speed Enchantment adds a boots enchantment that increases movement speed on dirt paths, in the same way Soul Speed works on soul sand.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalGNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.21 – 26.3

What it does

The enchantment appears on boots at three levels, and each level raises walking speed on path blocks. It can be obtained from the enchantment table, from loot chests and by trading with villagers, so players do not need to craft it. Server owners who want to offer the effect can add it to a world without building a custom server setup first. Path Speed Enchantment is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with a data pack build for server platforms, across 17 release versions, 1.21 – 26.3.

The server must run the mod, while a player's client may leave it out. The code is open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later, and the source code is publicly available.

Key features

  1. Three enchantment levels

Boots can carry the enchantment at three levels, each giving a larger movement speed bonus on path blocks.

  2. Soul Speed-style effect

The enchantment follows the pattern of Soul Speed, applying its speed bonus to a different block type.

  3. Multiple ways to obtain it

The enchantment can be found in enchantment table results, loot chests or from villager trades.
