Passenger Perspective

by lucyydotp

Passenger Perspective changes the camera view for players riding a vehicle, with a focused-vehicle mode for theme park servers.

FabricClient-side onlyBSD 2-Clause LicenseOpen source1.19.4 – 1.20.1

What it does

A rider can switch from the normal camera to a view that keeps the vehicle in focus. The camera follows the ride, so players seated in carts, boats or other vehicles see the track and surroundings from the vehicle's point of view. The mod is aimed at theme park servers, where a steady ride perspective is part of the attraction.

Server owners can force the ride perspective for everyone on the server, and players can turn it off for themselves. A chat command lets an operator set the focus behaviour, and a glowing indicator appears when a player starts a ride. Passenger Perspective runs only on the client and needs Fabric API to load. It is open source under the BSD 2-Clause License and has files for 1.19.4 – 1.20.1.

Key features

  1. Focused ride camera

When a player is riding a vehicle, the camera locks onto the vehicle for a steady view of the ride.

  2. Server-enforced perspective

A server can force the ride perspective for all players, and each player can disable it again on their own client.

  3. Entering and leaving rides

Entering a ride switches the camera back to the normal view once the player dismounts.

  4. Command controls

An operator command sets the focus behaviour, and the mod can be disabled at runtime with a separate command.
