Pam's HarvestCraft 2: Food Core
by matrexsvigil
Pam's HarvestCraft 2: Food Core is a Forge and NeoForge mod that adds about 180 new foods built from vanilla ingredients, along with new tools for crafting them.
What it does
The mod supplies the base recipes and new tools that other food mods in the series depend on. Recipes are built around vanilla Minecraft ingredients, and most use item tags where possible, which can help other mods' items fit into the same recipes. Each recipe needs its matching tool in the crafting grid together with the ingredients. The tools are made from copper ingots, andesite and terracotta rather than the iron and clay used by earlier versions, and tools such as buckets are not consumed during crafting.
The mod was re-booted rather than updated from Pam's HarvestCraft, and the wider series is split into separate mods, with this one required by the others. Textures for the new foods are included and match the vanilla art style. Clients and servers both need the mod, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge across six game versions, 1.20 – 1.21.1.
Key features
About 180 new foods
The mod adds roughly 180 food items made from vanilla ingredients, with new textures for each.
Tool-based recipes
Each recipe requires a specific tool placed in the crafting grid alongside its ingredients.
Reusable tools
Tools such as buckets are kept after crafting instead of being consumed by the recipe.
Tag-based ingredients
Recipes use item tags where possible, so items from other mods can be substituted into them.

Use cases
Base for food add-ons
Other mods in the series, including Food Extended, require this mod to run, so it is the starting point for that set of foods.
Vanilla-style food packs
Players who want new foods that match the look of vanilla textures can add this mod without changing the art style.
Who it’s for: Players who want a large set of new foods made from vanilla ingredients, and server owners who run a modpack built on the Pam's HarvestCraft 2 series.
How it compares
