Origins Bloom

by AlexWren

Origins Bloom is a Fabric adventure mod that turns the origin system into a progression line built from custom advancements, opening with a death-and-return storyline.

What it does

The mod starts with a lore sequence: a human dies, and a supernatural moss vine takes the soul and returns the body after a short delay, about one second in game time, with the same appearance. The revived body then decays quickly until only a skeleton remains, covered in moss vines. The player is left with instincts alone and must grow up through later stages, which is how the origin progression begins.

Each stage is granted through custom advancements rather than a single choice screen. The author describes the steps as ways to earn a bloom upgrade, including diving into powder snow, collecting eight red mushrooms and being struck by lightning. The mod remixes the existing origins idea into a fixed order that a player moves through in survival play.

Origins Bloom is published for Fabric only, for the 1.19 – 1.19.3 range, with files for 1.19, 1.19.1, 1.19.2 and 1.19.3. The latest file is 1.7.0 for 1.19.3, dated 2024-05-23. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. The code is not open source, and the files are released under All rights reserved. The author notes that a turtle helm recipe is needed for one step of the progression.
